New Academic Year

Well our new academic year has started. Welcome (back) to you distance learners.

We have a bespoke service for you which you will find in your study area in Learning Central  called the distance learning toolkit. Take time to explore this area as it explains all the services and support we provide for you.

Look out for the handbook which tells you all about our services and the 5 step process which will help you through your study for assignments, research and delivering effective patient care. Here we take you through planning searches, undertaking searches and where to look, obtaining the sources you require and critical appraisal of those items as well as citing and referencing. In each of these areas we have written guides, links, online tutorials, videos and dates for sessions when we will be running live internet sessions will be published here on the blog.

We take part in a SCONUL Access scheme which is a collaboration between 158 the United Kingdom and Ireland University libraries. This gives you the advantage of being able to use a library close to you. Fill in this form and send it back to me to obtain your SCONUL Card. You can find out which libraries participate and more information here.

I look forward to hearing from you over the duration of your course and if you come into Cardiff for residential, seeing you in one of our training sessions.
